Halfords wanted to build greater affinity with British families and make its products and services invaluable for summer vacations and staycations. It wanted to inspire families to make lifestyle changes and spend quality time outdoors and ultimately drive footfall into store. 'Unplug and Reconnect’ was an editorially-led movement to galvanise everyday families to reconsider the amount of time they spend with technology, ditch the all too familiar gadgets and create cherished memories in the outdoors together. Partnership activity launched with independent research devised by our research team and was picked up by The Mail On Sunday journalists to create newsworthy, stand-alone editorial content.
