In 2024, the UK Government set highly challenging targets for every UK manufacturer for the proportion of EVs sold with punishing penalties for non-compliance. Recognising charging accessibility as the top barrier to EV adoption across the UK for their heartland customers, Vauxhall launched a national crusade to tackle this issue for the industry and country. Our campaign ‘Electric Streets’ fused media, policy, and public action. We flipped the EV marketing script, making the infrastructure the star, not the car. In doing so, we didn’t just shift perception; we shifted policy. The campaign not only boosted Vauxhall’s EV consideration and sales; it made it easier for drivers across the UK to go electric.
