I'm Emini, I'm 28, and I'm based in London. I head up partnerships, events and growth at Underground Ecom, and I've spent the last decade building experience across ecommerce, marketing technology, and commercial partnerships. A lot of my early career was built through contracting, which was a deliberate choice. Moving across different businesses and industries gave me exposure I wouldn't have got sitting in one place. I started out in the weeds of ecommerce: platforms, CRO, customer journeys, the technical side of digital commerce that most people don't want to deal with. That took me through roles at Bauer Media Group, where I led ecommerce and marketing operations, to supporting The Walt Disney Company's shopDisney platform, to senior work at Eastside Co, one of the UK's leading Shopify Plus agencies. From there I moved into a Senior Technical Platform Manager role at Enterprise Nation, where I worked on building and managing programmes for the likes of Mastercard, Uber and the UK Government. That experience of working at that scale, with those kinds of stakeholders, gave me a real understanding of how large organisations invest in ecosystems and the people within them. Over time I moved further into partnerships and growth, spending two years as Global Partnerships Director at intent.ly, building out partner programmes across international markets. That mix of technical grounding and commercial experience has shaped how I think about this industry.
